The second of two benefit solo recitals in one weekend, this concert will be held at the Coralville Center for Performing Arts in Coralville, IA on 8/27 at 2 pm. The repertoire would feature a top notch soloist concert program focusing on a wide selection of serious, challenging and exciting classical pieces. The venue is beautiful with a great concert grand, and Charlie is super motivated! It will be a fantastic treat to the classical music lovers in Iowa!
Most importantly, the concert will benefit two very deserving nonprofit organizations – Univ. of Iowa Children’s Hospital and The Preemie Project.
Charlie was born a preemie and had to stay in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital for nearly a month before being going home for the first time. He knows first hand the struggles and worries preemies and their families face. He’d like to give back to the hospital that helped him, and to the families that need help through these benefit concerts. Charlie’s first benefit solo recital at age 9 was in fact fundraising for UI Children’s! Charlie had long wanted to give a benefit concert in his birthplace Iowa, but it was hard to get everything worked out. This year he’s finally able to do it and we’re all super excited!
